    ORGANO-ELEMENT COMPOUNDS CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT

The Department was founded in 1970.  Corresponding Member of the NAS of Ukraine Yu.G.Gololobov chaired the Department up to 1981, since 1982 Professor A.D.Sinitsa is the Head of the Department. The staff of the Department consists of 2 Doctors of Science, 9 PhDs, 12 researchers and engineers.
The priority research directions are as follows: study of the reactions of nucleophilic and electrophilic phosphorylation of unsaturated ambident compounds,  clarification of the factors influencing regio- and stereo-selectivity of the processes. New convenient methods for the synthesis of new reagents, phosphorylated and phosphorus-containing acyclic and heterocyclic systems have been developed. The Department conducts research in the field of hetero-substituted ilydes of phosphorus and sulfur, tautomerism and rearrangement of ilyde systems. Chemistry of phosphorus vinyl esters, heterocyclic phosphorus compounds of different coordination ( 2-6) has been developed.  The main principles of element-substituted hetero-alylic and heterodien systems inclined to rearrangements and connected with migrations of proton, chlorine, phosphorus-, sulfur-containing and unsaturated groups, have been formulated. More than 20 such rearrangements have been discovered. New fundamental transformations have been found, in particular, 1,3-H isomerization of iminoalkylphosphonates, it models bio-chemical reaction of trans-amination what allows to use new reactive phosphorylated imines and azadiens in organic synthesis, they may become a base for the new synthesis strategy, including asymmetric, acyclic and heterocyclic derivatives of aminophosphonic, diphosphonic, aminocarbonic and unsaturated aminophosphonic acids. These are base compounds for design of potential inhibitors of HIV-protease, antimicrobial and antiviral preparations.
An unexampled N>C transfer of sulfonyl group has been found at phosphotylation of trifluoropyruvate sulfonylimines.  ?5-oxazaphosphetanes have been separated for the first time, they are intermediate products  in the synthesis of imidoylchlorides by the reaction of chlorophosphoranes and N-substituted amides of polyhalogencarbonic acids.
A new general reaction for nucleophilic derivatives of tri-valence phosphorus  and C-functionally-substituted imino-analogs of ?-halogencarbonyl compounds have been found, it became the base for a new synthesis method for unsaturated compounds with the bond nitrogen-phosphorus.
New preparative synthesis methods of fluorinated aminoacids, phosphonates sulfonates and their derivatives have been patented.
Highly effective plant growth regulators have been created, they are: “Triamelon”, “Simarp”. New stabilizers for diene hydrocarbons, epoxide resin and catalyst for foamed polyurethane have been elaborated.
